The Twin Cities Track Club (TCTC) is excited to announce the fifth season of the youth cross-country league in Minneapolis and St. Paul. This year's league runs from August 13th thru October 4th and is open to boys and girls entering grades 3-8 in the fall of 2018. Given the rather large age-range, practices and meets will likely be split into smaller groups based on age and/or ability.

In our fifth year, six sites are available - including  Como Park, Highland ParkLinden Hills (Linden Hills Field), Theodore Wirth Park, Lake Nokomis, and the West Metro (Minnetonka). Each program will meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 – 7 PM (West Metro location will meet Mondays and Wednesdays). The season will culminate with an All-Twin Cities championship meet in Saint Paul at Como Park on Tuesday, October 2nd, with distance options of 1k, 2k and 3k. Find the location closest to you and sign your child up today!

Coaches & Curriculum

Each of the programs will be directed by TCTC athletes, community runners, and parent volunteers – all eager to share their passion of running. In addition to preparing the kids physically to compete in meets, the program will also focus on the mental aspects of the sport, various race strategies, the importance of both the individual and the team, and what kids can expect if they decide to compete at the next level. We will emphasize having fun by incorporating relays, obstacle courses, and other fun activities into our training program. Read more about our passionate coaches!

The registration fee is $50 and each participant will receive a t-shirt, 8 weeks of instruction from our coaches, and free participation in the city meets. Need-based grants are available to those who cannot afford the registration fee. Each participant will also become a TCTC member and will therefore be covered under the club’s insurance. In addition, TCTC will provide background checks for all program directors, coaches, and volunteers to ensure the safety and well-being of the children.
