About the TCTC Kids City XC League
The Twin Cities Track Club (TCTC) is excited to move into our sixth year of the youth cross-country league in Minneapolis and St. Paul in 2019. The league runs from August 13th thru October 3rd and is open to boys and girls entering grades 3-8 in the fall of 2019. Given the rather large age-range, practices and meets will often be split into smaller groups based on age and/or ability.
The 6 sites available this year include:
Boom Island Beavers *NEW IN 2019
Como Park Zoomers
Highland Park Giants
Lake Nokomis Numbats
Linden Hills Leprechauns
West Metro Hawks (Minnetonka)
Each program will meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 – 7 PM. The season will include an All-Twin Cities championship meet in Saint Paul at Como Park on Thursday, September 26th. Distances for the meet are 1k, 2k and 3k. Find the location nearest to you!
Coaches & Curriculum
Each of the programs will be directed by TCTC athletes, community runners, and parent volunteers – all eager to share their passion of running. In addition to preparing the kids physically to compete in meets, the program will also focus on the mental aspects of the sport, various race strategies, the importance of both the individual and the team, and what kids can expect if they decide to compete at the next level. We will emphasize having fun by incorporating relays, obstacle courses, and other fun activities into our training program. Learn more about our passionate coaches and volunteers!
Earlybird Registration: $60 Through July 31
Late Registration: $75 After August 1
The earlybird registration fee is $60 through July 31 and $75 after August 1. Each participant will receive a t-shirt, 8 weeks of instruction from our coaches, and free participation in the city meets. Need-based grants are available to those who cannot afford the registration fee. Each participant will also become a TCTC member and will therefore be covered under the club’s insurance. In addition, TCTC will provide background checks for all program directors, coaches and volunteers to ensure the safety and well-being of the children.
